McFarland Cascade seeks a qualified Yard Operator. Successful candidates will be expected to work in various roles throughout the plant. Positions include operating mobile equipment, operating the peeler as well as scaling/inspecting poles. Responsibilities as a mobile equipment operator include loading/unloading, sorting to and from processing equipment. As a peeler operator, will be responsible for processing poles through the peeling machine ensuring clean bark removal and smooth shaved poles for inspection. Work as a scaler/inspector is to inspect and grade poles while ensuring conformance to standards. Will determine reclassification sizes and lengths if necessary. The work is outdoors in all weather conditions

Qualifications:
• Previous forest product experience
• Previous heavy equipment operator experience preferred
• Knowledge of ANSI pole specifications preferred
• Good eye/hand coordination
• Attention to detail
• Ability to compute units of size and use/read a tape measure
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
